We have published our new enforcement policy for registered pharmacies which sets out the approach and principles we will follow when using our enforcement options and supports consistent decision-making.

Our overall approach is to support and encourage pharmacy owners to meet the standards for registered pharmacies.  

The Privy Council has appointed five new members to the GPhC Council. 

The new members, whose terms begin on 1 April 2019, are Aamer Safdar, Ann Jacklin, Neil Buckley, Penny Hopkins and Rima Makarem.  

The new members will replace Berwyn Owen, David Prince, Mary Elford, Mohammed Hussain and Samantha Quaye who are stepping down at the end of March having completed two terms.

Three current members of Council, Arun Midha, Joanne Kember and Mark Hammond, have been re-appointed for a second term.

Nigel Clarke, Chair of the GPhC, said:

There will be an increase to entry and renewal fees for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and registered pharmacies from 1 July 2019.

This is the first time the GPhC has increased fees since 2015 and for pharmacy professionals the fees will still be lower than those charged in 2011.
