The GPhC today welcomed the Professional Standards Authority’s (PSA’s) annual review of its performance which found, for the second consecutive year, that the GPhC had met all of the PSA’s standards for good regulation in 2016/17.
Our next council meeting takes place on Thursday 7 September. Read the agenda and the papers for the meeting.
The GPhC issued the following statement in response to the announcement by Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt regarding the launch of an initiative focused on reducing prescribing and medication errors:
‘The GPhC welcomes this initiative to explore ways to improve medication safety still further. Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians play a vital role not only in ensuring the safe supply of medicines, but also in working with patients, carers and other healthcare professionals to guard against a range of medication-related risks, including those to do with prescribing.
